On its own, a member of the body of Christ is weak, but when together in community, the

whole of the Church has strength to carry burdens.

Galatians 6:1-5

1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when

he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.

Writing to the saints in Philippi, Paul still challenges the Church to advance the Gospel while

sitting in prison. Philippians 1:12-14

12 I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, 13 so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. 14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Challenging them to push on and spread the Gospel no matter the cost.

Our stories of our courage in obeying God can inspire and challenge others to be bolder

themselves.

1st Peter 5:6-7

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

You are created.

You are called.

You are commissioned.
