Below are the notes from todays message from Pastor David:

The righteous are those who wait on the Lord even without the satisfaction of seeing promises fulfilledand situations resolved.

Whatever your situation is, are you willing to wait on God’s timing?

Ps. 33:20-22

20 Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart is glad in him, because we trustin His holy name. 22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

When people think about waiting on God and trusting in His timing, they think it’s a sit and wait game.

In Hebrews 11 we can see many of the OT saints that even though they didn’t see the promise they waitedfor….they kept the faith and moved forward, trusting in God.

Hebrews 11:13-16

13 These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. 14 For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. 15 If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

Part of our ability to wait is understanding that this earthly kingdom is not our Heavenly Kingdom.

These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. – Hebrews 11:13

Waiting on God through suffering and heartache is a big act of faith.

Having the faith of the OT saints is intense and different from what we face today.

Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain.

Enoch was taken up and never saw death.

Noah built an ark even though it had not rained for a while.

Sarah received power to conceive at her old age.

Abraham obeyed when he was told to offer his son as a sacrifice to God.

Moses led God’s people out of bondage from Pharaoh.

David by faith stood before the giant when no one else would.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego by faith stood when everyone else bowed down.

By faith the disciples dropped everything to follow Jesus.

By faith Peter got out of the boat.

By faith Jesus stood before the court to be put to death.

By faith Jesus took every lash of the whip for you and me.

By faith Jesus carried His Cross.

By faith Jesus was nailed to the Cross.

By faith Jesus didn’t call the angels to remove Him from the Cross.

By faith Jesus said, “IT IS FINISHED!!”

By faith Jesus rose from the dead.

By faith Jesus is COMING BACK!!

All of this….so we can have life and honor Him!!
