One of the most prominent themes in our culture is the idea of love, but what is it, really?

Without understanding that, in God’s very nature, God is love, we will miss the importance of loving God and othersrightly.

God is love” is more than a description of what God does in relation to us; it is who He is, in and of Himself.

Because God is love, the main proof that we are God’s children is shown in our love toward others.

1st John 4:7-12

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His loveis perfected in us.

One of the core ways that we are shown to be children of God is that we love others.

Love is the core characteristic in the spiritual DNA of those who know God.

In the same way that children often will look physically like their parents, and it shows that they are of them we are known to be God’s children because of the Godly love reflected in our lives towards others.
